Custom Construction

As with extrerior finish work, high-quality modular homes possess the same level of interior character and quality as an on-site built home. It begins with Mark designing homes that are built from the ground up to maximize energy efficiency. His custom modulars makes use of Energy-Star windows, lighting and appliances, thickly insulated walls and roof, and optimized gas heating zones to significantly lower energy consumption during the winter months. Central air conditioning keep the interior spaces comfortably cool during the summer.

A typical Cape Ann custom layout will include two levels with three bedrooms upstairs and two full baths. The main level can also have a half bath and a back office. A spacious basement includes interior access and a bulkhead entrance. It can frequently include a full-sized farmer’s porch that wraps around the front of the house, with the second level featuring one or more balconies. Modern open concept living includes a large kitchen and island workspace, a dining room with a side entrance door, and and a large living room.

Quality materials are used throughout, typically with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops, with Moen and Crane fixtures. The best in building materials are included: natural cedar siding, Andersen windows, IKO 30-year architectural roofing, oak flooring, Kraftmaid cabinets, etc. High energy efficiency construction (high R-value walls and roof), Energy Star appliances  round out his beautifully built custom colonials. To maximize on efficiency, his houses will feature two or more heat zones with a contractor-quality central heating/air conditioning system.
